Description:

2 Position would be part of a vegetative monitoring team for the GSENM. This position conducts botanical surveys and vegetation monitoring using specialized techniques. In addition, the intern will assist in data management within the specific agency’s database system. Position may also work with archaeology, range and recreation staff on other projects. Training for field and data entry techniques will be provided. Camping gear, field transportation and field equipment is provided.

Responsibilities:

Interns will work cooperatively with a Botanist and Ecologist- to perform vegetative monitoring on the GSENM. This position requires the ability to work independently or in a team environment while taking direction and training from a supervisor. Job will require use of GPS units to collect data. Field work may require some hiking on uneven terrain and some strenuous physical activities. Overnight camping will be required.
